A 32-year old man is facing firearms related charges following an incident in Labrador City last night.
The RNC was called to a request for assistance on Tamarack Drive around 7 p.m. The information received indicated that a man may have been driving in the area with a loaded firearm.
Police located and contained the vehicle in the area of Tamarack Drive Extension and a crisis negotiator was brought in to communicate with the man in question.
The incident resulted in a warning from police for residents to stay away from the area, but it all came to a peaceful conclusion and the man was taken into custody.
The man is facing charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unsafe storage of a firearm and careless use of a firearm.
