The former chair of Happy City St. John’s says the City of St. John’s may be inadvertently drawing a line in the sand with the lighting dispute in the Outer Battery
A large crowd made their way into council chambers Monday for the weekly public meeting at St. John’s City Hall.
They’re frustrated by what they perceive as a lack of action to deal with excessively bright lights set up on private property in the historic neighbourhood.
Meghan Hollett, who attended Monday’s meeting and ran in the last municipal election, says council needs to be “people focused” and think of those at the centre of the issue.
She says some issues can be solved with looking at the big picture, but notes it can also be approached piece by piece.
Hollett says ultimately people’s safety must be the number one priority when it comes to the lighting issue.
