The premier is calling the Placentia area an “incredible economic engine” for the province.
Joint funding to the tune of $6.6 million dollars was announced for Placentia yesterday.
The funding will go toward the replacement of 5.3 km of aging watermains in the town. The work will be split into two phases: the first from the RC Church in Dunville to Fox Harbour Road and the second from Fox Harbour Road to the end of the water system.
Provincial, federal and municipal officials were on hand for the announcement.
After touring the Vale site in Long Harbour yesterday, the Premier highlighted other local industrial development opportunities related to wind and oil and gas development.
