Most of the island is under a wind warning as another weather system approaches.
Environment Canada meteorologist Ian Hubbard says winds will spread west to east overnight.
He says gusts on the west coast could reach 100 to 110 km/h, with wind gusts of up to 110 km/h for exposed areas of the east coast as well.
Winds will pick up this evening, and get worse overnight, ending early in the morning.
He says winds will remain gusty through the day tomorrow (in the range of up to 60 km/h), but they will drop-off significantly from peak wind gusts overnight.
Officials are encouraging resident to bring in loose items including shovels.
Rainfall warnings are also in effect for some areas, with the highest amounts, possibly as high as 50 mm, on the southwest coast. There is a possibility of localized flooding as the result of rain and snowmelt.
