Labrador is leading the way in food innovation.
That’s according to Food First NL who held their annual community update at the St. John’s Community Market yesterday.
Board member Jamie Jackman, who hails from the Bigland, says some of the most innovative ideas for food security are coming out of Indigenous communities.
He says there’s an intimate connection between Indigenous people and the land that lends itself to food innovation.
