Radiothons supporting healthcare on the West Coast of the island have raised over $750,000.
Yesterday, Western Regional Hospital Foundation in Corner Brook raised just over $350,000 with a $200,000 matching donation from the provincial government. The radiothon was held in support of breast cancer care and the purchase of three pieces of equipment: a 3D mammography unit, a lymphatic mapping probe, and a general ultrasound.
The Dr. Charles L. Legrow Health Centre Foundation Radiothon helped raise funds for a new wheelchair accessible bus for their long-term residents and adult day support program clients. The Radiothon raised about $51,000 plus a matching government donation of $50,000.
The Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Foundation Radiothon raised $52,000 with an additional $50,000 donation from the provincial government.
