A Clarenville woman’s 65th birthday present to herself paid off in a big way.
Betty Quinton picked up a Set for Life ticket with the $16 dollars she found in her pocket while picking up groceries.
She decided to get four tickets as a birthday gift to herself. Little did she know that one of those tickets was a grand prize winner.
She chose the lump sum payment and plans to pay off her mortgage, buy a new vehicle and help out her children and grand children.
Cormack Mini-Mart in Shoal Harbour received the one per cent seller’s prize.
