The provincial government is giving just over $240,000 to Indigenous violence prevention programs.
Sixteen projects will receive the funding through the Indigenous Violence Prevention Grants Program, aimed at developing public awareness, education and training materials to combat violence targeted at Indigenous folk.
The Nunatsiavut Government, Empowering Indigenous Women for Stronger Communities, and the NunatKavut Community Council received the largest portions, getting around $23,000 each.
