Classes resume at MUN on Wednesday following a tentative deal with MUNFA.
Memorial University says they’re in the process of cleaning up multiple vandalism sites throughout the campus.
A total of nine sites were damaged by red spray paint, plastering messages calling out MUN and President Vianne Timmons on their position during the labour dispute with MUNFA.
Timmons says it was unfortunate to see purposeful damage done, but she hopes they can move past all of the negative impacts of the strike once things return to normal.
She says the university is evaluating the costs of removing the vandalism. Along with physical graffiti, Timmons says there was also a lot of “nasty things” being said on social media, but she hopes to move on together in a civil manner.
