There’s a public meeting in Marystown tonight to talk about the closure of a bridge linking the north side of Marystown with the more commercialized south side.
Transportation officials closed down the bridge on Friday, meaning about an extra 26 km per round trip for residents. Mayor Brian Keating says that amounts to a lot of money and inconvenience for residents.
He wants to hear from people affected by the closure as a replacement for the Canning bridge will take a considerable amount of time.
Council has some ideas but they wish to hear the thoughts and concerns of residents.
The meeting takes place at 7:00 at Hotel Marystown.
