The Canada Games Council has officially unveiled the logo for when the games come to town in 2025.
The logo as a whole is in the shape of a maple leaf with three distinct red, yellow, and blue sections. At its centre, the logo has the initials SJ for the host city.
The council says the logo was inspired by a focus group of young athletes from the province.
It uses shapes and colours influenced by the provincial flag and Newfoundland culture.
The red reflects the province’s jagged coastline and landmarks, the blue captures the city’s architecture, while the yellow illustrates the shared flames of competition, good will, and passion associated with the games.
