Week one athletes with Team Newfoundland and Labrador will take flight to the Canada Winter Games in PEI today.

The team, consisting of athletes, coaches, staff, and volunteers, will depart St. John’s International this afternoon at 3:30.

The games begin on Saturday with events taking place over the course of the next two weeks.

The winter games will officially close out on March 5.
