The Scotties Tournament of Hearts is in full swing in Kamloops as some of Canada’s best female curlers compete for a spot in the tournament final.
Representing Newfoundland and Labrador is Team Curtis, led by skip Stacie Curtis.
Curtis’ rink lost 12 – 3 to Rachel Homan and Team Ontario in their tournament debut on Saturday evening.
Curtis says they’re taking somewhat of an aggressive approach to the game knowing that they’ll be facing some of the greatest female curlers of all time.
Although it’s early in the tournament, Curtis says she’s already feeling the love and support from back home.
The team thanks everyone for all the support they’ve received while playing on the other side of the country. “The support you get from Newfoundland is like no other,” says Curtis. “We hear it, we feel it, keep cheering and we hope to make everybody proud.”
Team Curtis will be back on the ice tonight against Jennifer Jones and Team Manitoba. That game gets underway at 11:00 p.m. island time.
