The first intake of students to the joint medical program between Memorial University and the University of PEI has been delayed until August 2025. UPEI originally planned to admit the first student cohort in 2024.
Dr. Margaret Steele, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and MUN and Dr. Greg Keefe, interim President of UPEI, provided the update on the development of the joint medical degree to their respective university communities this week.
Delays in completion of the physical facilities are the main reason why the joint program has been pushed back by a year.
