Fugro, a company that provides marine geoscience, surveying and mapping services around the world, has a new remote operations centre in St. John’s in partnership with the provincial government.
Local branch manager of the new office on Pippy Place and manager of asset integrity in Canada with Fugro, Pat Byrne, calls the new centre a great opportunity.
He says the company has been in the industry for many years, and the new centre provides them with a local hub to branch out with its services to anywhere across the globe.
The centre currently employs some 50 people with more hiring expected over the coming year.
He says they already have clients who are interested and a project which is already booked.
