The Ukrainian community in Newfoundland and Labrador will gather at Confederation Building in St. John’s on Friday to mark the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

President of Ukrainian NL, Bruce Lilly says when the people of Ukraine needed help, the people of Newfoundland and Labrador opened their doors and stood by them.

He says this Friday they will stand together to honour those lost and commemorate the strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people in the face of Russia’s attacks on their homeland.

A public event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the main lobby of Confederation Building. The general public is welcome to attend.
