Cain’s Quest, the world’s longest snowmobile endurance race. is just around the corner and the MHA for Labrador West couldn’t be more excited.
Teams from around the world go to Labrador each year for a 3000 km off-trail race through deep snow and thick woods.
Jordan Brown looks forward to it each year. He says the teams are looking for the challenge and adventure, but they’re also blown away by Labrador hospitality.
He remembers the reaction of the members of Team Finland when they were met by a group of ardent local students who were cheering them on.
He says the students presented the team members with Finnish flags, and wanted the team to sign them. Brown says the visitors were moved that they had fans on the ground in Labrador who were following their progress and rooting for them. When they remarked on it, the response was “That’s just Labrador, that’s just who we are; we love everybody.”
Cain’s Quest gets underway March 4th.
