The latest Abacus Data political poll shows the federal Conservatives leading over the governing Liberals in voter intentions.
Among all Canadians, 30 per cent of those who responded say they would vote Conservative, with 24 per cent voting Liberal, 15 per cent NDP and 6 per cent supporting the Bloc Quebecois.
Seventeen per cent were undecided.
Thirty-four per cent of those asked approve of the federal government’s performance to date, while 49 per cent disapprove, relatively unchanged since the summer.
The desire for change is up slightly from the end of the last election from 50 per cent to 51 per cent, while impressions of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau remain relatively steady.
The impression of Pierre Poilievre has not changed much either, while the impression of the NDP’s Jagmeet Singh has improved slightly.
Methodology: The survey was conducted with 4000 Canadian adults from February 9 to the 18th. A random sample of panelists were invited to complete the survey from a set of partner panels based on the Lucid exchange platform. Those partners are typically double opt-in survey panels, blended to manage out potential skews in data from a single source. The margin of error for a comparable probability-based random sample of the same size is plus or minus 1.7 per cent 19 times out of 20.
