Food First NL is looking for people to join its new Lived and Living Experience Advisory Group.
The group will consist of people from across the province who have experience living with food insecurity and poverty.
The organization says members will use their knowledge to bridge the gap between policies and programs, and the people affected by them.
They say the group has been in the works for a while, and the need to centre and amplify the voices of those affected is urgent due to the cost of living crisis. One person tweeted out last week that he had never imagined he’d be seeing a pound of butter at a supermarket in the metro area for over $9.00.
The deadline to apply to be a part of the group is April 4.
