The lift bridge in Placentia is undergoing more repairs.
Officials with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure say the work is expected to take a few days.
While no vessels can get through, the bridge will remain open for vehicle traffic.
The new Sir Amrbrose Shea lift bridge officially opened in 2016 to much fanfare at a cost of almost $50 million.
It replaced the original bridge that was built in 1961.
