Newfoundlander Dawson Mercer has made Devils hockey history.
Mercer played his 141st game last night, breaking Scott Gomez’s franchise record for most consecutive games to start a career.
After the game, Mercer told reporters it was extra special that Gomez was in the house, and handed him the game puck.
Mercer has been on a tear lately, with scoring in six straight games, bringing his total on the year to 19.
Mercer has eight goals over that stretch.
Pretty special when Scott Gomez is in the house to congratulate you on breaking his record!
