One person was sent to hospital following a small fire in Corner Brook yesterday morning.
At around 11:15 a.m., A business owner found smoke in the stairwell at a residence on West Street and called emergency services.
Firefighters and police were able to enter the residence and found the occupant sleeping.
An inspection revealed the smoke was caused by an electrical issue with an appliance and the minimal fire damage was limited to a small area of the home.
The resident was sent to hospital for medical attention.
Police do not believe foul play is involved.
