An event to raise funds for the organization that provides breakfast for school aged children across the province is set to go ahead this evening.

The Rise Up Gala will be taking place at the Delta Hotel in St. John’s tonight and will feature food, entertainment and fundraisers towards the Kids Eat Smart Foundation.

Executive Director Celina Stoyles says this year marks 30 years of raising funds to provide children in Newfoundland and Labrador with breakfast every school day.

Stoyles says it’s important for them to ensure that every child has access to food. The Gala helps them continue fundraising to support the increasing demand to provide breakfast to kids in need.
