The City of St. John’s has announced over $1.7-million is funding for various community groups and organizations.
The money includes over $1.2-million is community grants, $482,000 in capital grants, and $51,000 in waived permit fees.
In total, 124 community groups and organizations, and 62 individual artists will receive funding.
Some of the funding includes $100,000 to Choices for Youth to purchase a new commercial building that they will turn into a social enterprise hub, $70,000 to the Goulds Lions Arena for a new Zamboni, $50,000 to End Homelessness St. John’s, and $2,000 to the Ukrainian Cultural Association of NL.
