The provincial government has announced $1.4 million in funding for Tennis NL ahead of the 2025 Canada Summer Games.
The money will go towards some significant improvements both the Riverdale and Green Belt tennis clubs.
At Riverdale, court and lighting upgrades will take place.
However, some of the most significant upgrades will happen at Green Belt. There, a new air dome will be installed, as well as seating and court upgrades.
Gordon Breen, President of the St. John’s Tennis Association, says work on the Riverdale facility will start this spring, and some underground work at Green Belt will also take place. However, the bulk of the work will happen in 2024.
