Brad Gushue is the winner of the Canadian men’s curling championship.
He beat Manitoba’s Matt Dunstone 7-5 at Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario on Sunday to successfully defend his title.
It’s Gushue’s fifth Tim Hortons Brier crown in the past seven years, making him the winningest skip of all time. Several other skips, including Randy Ferby, have four titles.
Leading 6-5 in the 10th, he and Mark Nichols pulled off three straight incredible shots to counter Dunstone. Mark Nichols says a three-point eighth end was the difference.
Gushue and teammates Mark Nichols, E.J. Harnden and Geoff Walker will represent Canada at the world championship next month in Ottawa.
