The Pinnacle Growlers U18 AAA hockey team won the NL U18 Major Hockey League Championship on the weekend at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium in Grand Falls-Windsor. The Growlers beat the Traction Central Impact 5-3 to wrap up the series in four games.
Growlers third year goaltender, Clay Ryan, was presented the playoff MVP award by HNL President, Dr. Jared Butler.
The team will represent Newfoundland and Labrador at the U18 AAA Atlantic Championships in Fredericton, NB from March 30 to April 2.
