A Shea Heights family is drawing some attention for a snow sculpture celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
James Keating has created a St. Patrick’s Day leprechaun out of snow, complete with shamrock.
You might be familiar with Keating’s work when he used to live in Cowan Heights.
He told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly he and his son Ashton decided to create the sculpture to take people’s minds off the long, hard winter.
He says Ashton is 18 and has been doing the sculptures with his dad since he was old enough to walk. Keating has been doing the sculptures himself since he was 12. He jokes that he used to create snow sculptures all the time when he lived down on Canada Drive, but they’ve relocated to Shea Heights. “This is our new locale,” he says.
