A young man is dead following a snowmobile mishap in the community of Terra Nova.
RCMP say they were contacted around 1 a.m. this morning and informed that a 21-year-old man was injured and unconscious after running into a tree.
Police and paramedics responded and the victim, who police say was wearing a helmet, was transported to a waiting ambulance but subsequently pronounced dead.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is assisting the RCMP with the investigation into the tragedy.
