Police have released surveillance footage connected with a late-night theft at a business in Witless Bay, hoping to identify those responsible.
Ferryland RCMP responded to the Witless Bay Home Hardware shortly after midnight on Saturday.
The storage yard’s gate was forced open, and a large supply of pressure-treated plywood was pilfered.
A light-coloured pickup was recorded leaving the area on Route 10—its cargo bed noticeably weighed down. The truck was reportedly loud, a possible sign of exhaust issues or having a diesel engine.
Police say the truck may also have damage to its front or rear from forcing the gate open.
Anyone with info is asked to contact the RCMP at (709) 432-2440 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
