Two people were taken to hospital following a serious two-vehicle crash in St. John’s over the supper hour yesterday.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at the intersection of Topsail Road and Cowan Avenue around 5:45 yesterday evening.

The RNC say the driver of each vehicle was taken to hospital. There is no immediate word on the extent of injuries.

A crash at one of the busiest intersections in St. John’s tied up traffic during the late-afternoon rush hour today.

The mishap at Cowan Avenue and Topsail Road occurred just after 5:30 p.m.

There’s no word on the extent of injuries but motorists were urged to avoid the area as numerous RNC and first responders went about their work.

Newfoundland Power crews were also on scene dealing with electrical issues caused by the collision.
