Federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is in the capital city meeting with supporters and discussing the dental plan announced in last week’s federal budget.
The dental plan was a big part of the NDP platform and was achieved through a supply and confidence agreement between the governing Liberals and the New Democrats.
Singh told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly this morning he believes the NDP is able to balance getting what they want in terms of government services and holding the governing party to account.

He says they forced the federal government to deliver the biggest expansion of health care in a generation, while at the same time forcing the testimony of the PM’s Chief of Staff at the hearings into alleged foreign interference in the Canadian democratic process.
Singh says the Conservatives can’t make those same claims.
