A Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker will be making its way through the Roddickton-Bide Arm area today.
Residents who may be out on the ice are asked to stay far away from the CCGA Ann Harvey as it moves through.
Cracks in the ice can extend far beyond the immediate track, posing a hazard for anyone in the area.
