The union representing striking federal workers says it’s going to escalate their actions beginning today.
The 155,000 workers walked off the job last Wednesday and while they have made progress at the bargaining table, the Public Service Alliance of Canada says they are not there yet.
Ottawa has a 9 per cent wage offer over three years on the table, an improvement over its original offer. The union has also moved on wages. They are also closer to agreement on remote work language, but they’re not where the union wishes to be yet.
It’s expected that the escalated actions will be designed to have more of an impact on Canadians than the strike had in the first few days.
