A special screening of a documentary detailing the harrowing experience of dealing with ovarian cancer is taking place next week.

Monday, May 8 marks World Ovarian Cancer Day, and to mark the occasion, Belles with Balls NL and Up Sky Down Films will be premiering their new documentary “Sounding the Belles”.

The film, directed by Roger Maunder, follows the stories of five local women who have personally had or had a loved one diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Following the screening, experts will hold a Q&A on ovarian cancer and its symptoms.

The event takes place at 7:00 p.m. on May 8 at the Health Sciences.
