Police on the southwest coast are asking for the public’s help in connection with a string of suspicious fires.

Channel-Port aux Basques RCMP are seeking information into a string of fires on a trail between South Branch and Doyles over the last month.

Just before 4:00 p.m. on April 28, the Codroy Valley Fire Department informed police of multiple grass fires along the ATV trail . Firefighters believed that the blazes were intentionally set sometime in the afternoon.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner has been engaged and the investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information or video footage that could assist the investigation is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
