It’s never too late to go back to school—and that’s something St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen can attest to.

Breen began his degree in Political Science at Memorial University back in the late 1970’s, but never finished it.

In 2016, several decades later, when he was already established on council, he finished that degree.

He says most of his work was completed online, but he did spend some time in class.

He remembers doing a modern world history course, and jokes that to most of the class those events were new to them, but he could remember them happening.

Breen says it’s never too late to finish your education and it’s easy to do. He notes that he never encountered any problems with going back.
