Two Holocaust memorial events are taking place today in St. John’s.
First, a memorial service commemorating the Warsaw ghetto uprising and the six million Jewish people who died in the Holocaust is taking place at 3:00 p.m. at MUN’s Bruneau Centre.
It will feature survivor Pinchas Gutter via zoom, and his remembrances of the Warsaw ghetto and surviving concentration camps.
At 6:30 tonight, the Where Courage Lives event with survivor Muguette Myers is taking place at the St. John’s Convention Centre.
That event will follow the fascinating story of Myers’ family and their escape from Nazi occupied Paris.
The provincial government will be represented at both events by Minister Gerry Byrne.
