Today is the official Victoria Day holiday.
It’s an official shops closing day in Newfoundland and Labrador, meaning most retail businesses and offices, as well as municipal and provincial government buildings are closed.
In the city of St. John’s there were be no garbage or recycling collection. Pickup will take place tomorrow instead.
Paid parking will not be enforced, and the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is closed.
Street cleaning operations will take place this evening starting at 10:00 p.m. meaning that vehicles on designated streets will have to be moved or risk getting a ticket.
