The current phase of the Kenmount Road tear-up is on schedule, meaning that traffic will be flowing normally by the first of December. But, sections of the busy highway will be a dusty place for the next two construction seasons.
The storm sewer is being replaced as far westward as the Team Gushue Highway.
The section from Polina Road to Peet Street has been reduced from five lanes to two for the past few months, but that work will be completed by the end of November as scheduled.
As soon as the snow goes, work will begin on the section from Peet Street to the Post office according to Councillor Sandy Hickman, who’s in charge of public works. The final phase will be done the following year from the Post office to the Team Gushue Highway.
He says the project will be done by the end of 2021.
