The premier says Newfoundland and Labrador is repaying the favour in helping our neighbours in Nova Scotia.
The province has sent three waterbombers and 12 firefighting personnel to the Maritime province to help battle the raging forest fires. The province will also assist in the rebuilding effort when the time comes.
Premier Andrew Furey says he has spoken with Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston and has committed support.
He has offered support to Premier Houston alongside the resources previously committed and assured him NL would support Nova Scotia as Nova Scotia supported us last year when wildfires burned in central.
In an update to the residents of Nova Scotia yesterday. Premier Tim Houston offered his thanks to Newfoundland and Labrador and New Brunswick.
Newfoundland and Labrador is sending additional resources to help our cousins in Nova Scotia as they deal with the forest fires. We will have three water bombers with 12 firefighting personnel in Nova Scotia on Tuesday, and we are happy to help in any way we can. Stay safe!
