A family of four has been displaced by a fire that was confined to the basement but caused smoke damage elsewhere in one unit of a townhouse complex in St. John’s.
Canadian Red Cross volunteers are helping a couple and two children with emergency lodging and purchases for items such and food and clothing.
The fire happened over the supper hour yesterday while the family was away from their home, which is located on Mitchell’s Court.
