Ongoing bridge work on Pitts Memorial means that temporary weight restrictions will be in place on segments of the busy highway over the weekend.

The Department of Transportation says the maximum load limit for trucks will be reduced to 15 tonnes between 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 2, through to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 4.

Trucks and heavy equipment heading west from the downtown in excess of the weight limit will have to use the Kilbride exit onto Bay Bulls Road.

Highway enforcement officers will be on site to enforce the temporary reduction in weight limits.
