A 40-year-old man is facing numerous charges after the truck he was driving crashed into a building in Nain early Wednesday morning.

RCMP were contacted around 2:00 a.m. with a report of a pickup stolen from a residential property. The pickup was later seen driving erratically before it crashed into a commercial building on Middlepath Road.

The driver ran from the scene, but was located uninjured, a short distance away. He was arrested and taken into custody.

John Bennett is now facing charges of impaired driving, taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, damage to property over $5000 dollars, and resisting arrest.

The investigation continues.
