The City of Corner Brook is encouraging residents to get involved in the annual Participaction Community Challenge.
June is recreation month in Corner Brook, and the city says every minute of activity counts. Whether gardening, walking, biking or running, they’re asking residents to log on, or download the Participaction app to record their activity levels.
Teams of up to seven people can even be created.
The aim is to get more people thinking about and getting more physically active. Canada’s most active community will receive $100,000 dollars and one community per province will receive $7,500 to $15,000 to support local physical activity and sports initiatives.
As an added incentive—if you tag the city of Corner Brook on activity posts to social media you get a chance to win a $300 dollar gift card.
