Staff and customers at the Georgetown Pub recently came together to help out a familiar face at the popular St. John’s watering hole.
Earlier this week, a bike belonging to regular customer Glen Power and his dog Toto was stolen.
When the staff at the Georgetown Pub heard the news, they took to social media encouraging patrons to donate towards the purchase of a new bicycle.
Bartender Rebecca Coffey says it wasn’t long before donations started rolling in—with local business Canary Cycles chipping in to provide a new bike at a fraction of the cost.
The staff assembled the bike and sold it to the pub for half the price. With the additional funds raised, they were able to buy a few extras for Power’s new ride, including a fish pan for Toto to ride around in.
