The provincial government is seeking public input on a new proposed critical minerals strategy.
Industry Minister Andrew Parsons says critical minerals are playing an increasingly important role in the transitioning energy and industry sectors and Newfoundland and Labrador have an abundance.
Critical minerals are used in variety of products including batteries, EVs and solar panels. Canada has identified 31 critical minerals, Newfoundland and Labrador has 23—including fluorspar.
Public input is being invited through the Engage NL website until July 14.
