Fourteen firefighters from Newfoundland and Labrador are in Nova Scotia helping battle the largest wildfire in that province’s history.
The Barrington Lake blaze has grown to about 235 square kilometres since it first broke out a couple of weeks ago. A total of 139 personnel from the United States, NL, PEI, the Armed Forces and local departments are doing their best to get the upper hand on the fire.
The Barrington Lake blaze has forced more than 6,000 people from their homes and destroyed 60 houses and cottages, as well as 150 other structures.
