Labrador MP Yvonne Jones is back in the House of Commons after undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
It’s her second battle with the disease, her first coming when she was a member of the House of Assembly.
She made a triumphant return to the House of Commons yesterday to cheers and applause from her colleagues.
She thanked her family, friends and colleagues for their support as she “successfully battled breast cancer for the second time.”
Jones also thanked the professionals with the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.
She expressed her “deep gratitude” to local health care teams who “never relent in their quest for a cure, and they never relent in their service and commitment to their patients.”
