A St. John’s pub has teamed up with a Newfoundland Growlers player to make a significant donation to Daffodil Place.

According to The Newfoundland Embassy, last November, Growlers forward Todd Skirving came to them with the idea of selling ‘The Skirvy’ shirts to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer research in honour of his father.

The initiative raised a total of $10,000 for Daffodil Place.

The Embassy says the effort was “an absolute honour” to be part of.
